Summer is finally here, and if there’s one thing we never tire of, it’s color. Unless you’ve been buried in sand at the beach this season, you’ve probably seen sunset blush taking over the For You pages. This super easy beauty trend is all the rage on the internet, and we just can’t get enough of the natural golden hour glow that these gradient flush looks give off.

What is Sunset Blush?
Photographing a sunset may sound difficult, but the basics of this trend are actually quite simple.
“It’s super popular on TikTok right now,” explains celebrity makeup artist Jeannia Robinette. “I love that it’s creative and colorful. All you need is two blushers of the same shade (I like to blend a light pink and an orange-ish blush) and a highlighter.”
It seems so easy! Just choose your favorite tone with your favorite powder or cream formula and blend!
According to Robinette, it’s the combination of rich pink and striking orange that creates Sunset Blush’s signature gradient, but it’s the subtle addition of highlight that takes this look to the next level.
Not a problem 1 I wish I was at the beach right now 🥲

How to improve your appearance
“My favorite way to create a sunset blush look is to dot three different blushes on my cheekbones,” explains makeup artist Natalie Drescher. “My current favorite combo is Valentino Liquirosso Soft Matte Liquid Blush and Lipstick ($40) in See You Later, Pink is Punk, and Catch Me If You Can.” (Currently out of stock) Apply from your hairline to your cheekbones.”
Play around with placement and try placing an orange-ish hue on your cheekbones or near your hairline, depending on how you want the gradient to play out, but be careful not to use too much product.
“A gradient from a peach tone to a bright pink to a more muted tone makes for the perfect sunset blush,” says Drescher. “Because liquid blushes (especially this formula!) tend to be highly pigmented, the key is to use only a minimal amount of blush on each dot to make the gradient stand out and look blended!”
