Little Rock Tech Park to pump $1.5 million into expansion

Little Rock city officials approved more than $1 million for the Little Rock Technology Park expansion. Here’s what’s coming next.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Little Rock Technology Park has received $1.5 million for its expansion after city officials approved the funds on June 18.

“It creates a vibrant environment for entrepreneurs,” said Tech Park Executive Director Buckley Omer.

Little Rock Technology Park opened on Main Street in 2017. Since then, the park has become a creative center for the city’s best and brightest.

“[It’s] “It’s basically a place for technology companies, especially start-ups and young companies, to collaborate and be on an equal footing with other technology companies,” Omer said.

There are workspaces available for businesses as small as one or two people or as small as a few employees.

But as your business grows, you’ll need more space.

So the Tech Park is entering the second phase of its 20-year master plan, with plans to expand into the building next door.

“It’s the size of a slightly larger company office that’s in its next phase but isn’t quite stable or ready to go global yet,” Omer said.

The Tech Park Master Plan is designed to retain Arkansas’ best and brightest creative talent.

“If a new company is starting up, there is an opportunity to relocate to another city that offers great spaces like this, and if they don’t have that here, they may relocate in search of an environment like this,” Omer said.

The Croissantrie is set to open in July at the Little Rock Technology Park and will be a smaller version of the flagship store selling coffee, croissants and other treats.
