Biles was leading Jordan Childs and Sunisa Lee after Friday’s competition, but with Leah Jones (knee), Kayla DiCello (Achilles) and Skye Blakely (Achilles) all injured, there’s confusion over who will make up the five-woman team.

Day two of the U.S. Olympic Women’s Gymnastics Trials begins at 8:10 p.m. ET and runs until 11:00 p.m. ET. NBC will broadcast the sessions and Peacock will stream them.

Serie Jones injury: What you need to know
Jones injured her knee on the vault during a pre-meet warm-up on Friday night and missed all events except the uneven bars. USA Gymnastics announced that she will sit out Sunday’s competition after a re-examination on Saturday.
Jones, who has won all-around medals at the past two world championships, was almost as much of a favorite as Simone Biles to make the Paris team. She competed in the qualifying rounds with a shoulder injury that kept her out of the national championships earlier this month, but her coach, Sarah Korngold, said she was ready to compete.
But during warm-ups on Friday, Jones landed on the vault and collapsed to the mat, clutching her right foot. Biles rushed over to check on her, and Jones sat on the podium for a few minutes before being helped backstage by Korngold and medical staff.
Kayla DiCello injury: What you need to know
Kayla DiCello injured her Achilles tendon during the first round of vault on Friday. She left the venue in a wheelchair and USA Gymnastics announced she would be ruled out for the rest of the night.
Jordan Chiles: What you need to know
The Tokyo Olympian showed his mettle at the US Classic with solid performances in all four events, and while Chiles may not be able to beat the Americans by a ton in any one event, he’s not leaving any gaps either.
“I think I realized I had potential,” Chiles said of the difference between this season and last, when she struggled to make the transition from NCAA to elite level.
“A lot of times when you say you want to do something, there are so many eyes and expectations and you don’t know what’s going to happen,” Childs added. “When you put that aside, you realize, ‘I’m just going to go ahead and be who I’m supposed to be and put in the effort that’s needed at every practice.'”

Suni Lee was in such good form that she was in the five-man U.S. team for the Paris Olympics. She placed fourth at the U.S. championships in early June and has since upped her game on the uneven bars and floor exercise. But her life changed 15 months ago when she developed kidney disease and found herself too hydrated to grip the ball. Some days she couldn’t even get out of bed.
Lee said a phone call she received on Jan. 4 (details of which she wishes to withhold) was a turning point. “I thought, ‘Wow, I’m going to go back to the gym tomorrow and feel the best I’ve ever felt.’ That was the day I thought, ‘Yes, this is what I want, so I’m going to give it my all,'” she said. Netflix recently released the trailer for “Simone Biles: Rising” and announced that the four-part documentary series will premiere on July 17, nine days before the Opening Ceremony. “Rising” follows Biles’ return to competition after being forced to miss most of the Tokyo Olympics due to a “sprain.”

The judges clearly agreed, awarding her 15.975 points, with 9.75 points for execution.
