Local officials said the first attack was carried out by a woman.
Multiple suicide bombings occurred across Nigeria over the weekend, killing at least 30 people and wounding more than 100, sources said on Sunday.
The Emir of Gwoza, Alhaji Mohammed Shehu Timuta, told reporters that the first attack on Saturday was carried out by a woman.
“The first suicide attack was carried out by an unidentified woman who took her two children and sneaked into a popular youth wedding party in Gwoza and detonated an improvised explosive device (IED), killing herself and many others,” the emir said.
“Minutes later, another suicide bomber sneaked into a nearby burial ceremony and detonated an improvised explosive device, [I] As I speak to you, a third explosion has occurred. [a] More casualties were reported a few minutes ago,” the chief added.
Nigerian President Bola Tinubu condemned the attack, calling it a desperate act of terrorism that signaled growing pressure on terrorists had succeeded in thwarting their ability to carry out attacks.
Governor Tinubu said his administration was taking necessary steps to ensure the safety of the people and vowed to bring those responsible to justice.
No group has claimed responsibility for the bombing.
