Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum has agreed to a five-year, $314 million contract extension that includes a player option and a trade kicker, sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski on Monday.

The 26-year-old Tatum averaged 22.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 7.2 assists in a five-game victory over the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals to lead Boston to its 18th NBA title and help the Celtics pass perennial rivals the Los Angeles Lakers for the most championships in league history.

Drafted third overall by the Celtics in 2017, the 6-foot-9 forward has developed into one of the NBA’s premier two-way talents on the wing and currently forms one of the best wing duos in the league with Jaylen Brown, who Boston signed to a record contract extension a year ago.

The Celtics also agreed to a contract extension with guard Derrick White early Monday, meaning Boston’s entire starting lineup is now under contract through at least 2025-26.

Tatum is a five-time All-Star and four-time All-NBA selection, having been named to the All-NBA First Team each of the past three seasons. After winning a gold medal at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, he will also be part of Team USA at this summer’s Paris Olympics as the men’s national team seeks to win a fifth consecutive gold medal.

ESPN’s Tim Bontemps contributed to this report.
