MUMBAI: The Indian National Congress on Monday nominated Indian National Congress politician Pradnya Rajeev Satav for the July 11 Legislative Assembly elections. Satav is the widow of former Lok Sabha MP Rajeev Satav from Hingoli. Pradnya was elected to the Assembly in a by-election a year ago. PWP’s Jayant Patil will be the MVA’s second nominee. The MVA has 67 strength in the Assembly. With a 23-vote limit, it will not be difficult for the MVA to secure two seats. The NCP, led by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, has nominated party general secretaries Shivajirao Garje and Rajesh Vitekar for the Assembly elections. TNN

Congress retains MLC Pradnya Satav in Maharashtra Assembly elections

The Indian National Congress has re-nominated Pradnya Satav for the Maharashtra state assembly elections on July 12. She is contesting for a state assembly slot against Pankaja Munde and Jayant Patil. Supported by Sharadchandra Pawar, she has an electoral college of 274. There are 14 vacant seats in the assembly, and the next elections will be held ahead of the October polls.

“MVA allies should not name the CM’s face. They should focus on restoring power.”

NCP’s Jayant Patil stressed on the MVA’s unity in the Maharashtra elections and urged them to avoid internal rivalry. The alliance collapsed due to a split in the Shiv Sena and the NCP won the Lok Sabha elections. Maintaining unity is crucial to prevent a leadership gap and ensure a strong electoral result.

MVA doesn’t need CM face in Maharashtra elections: Sharad Pawar

Sharad Pawar highlighted the strength of the MVA in Kolhapur, signalling a positive trend among the people and opposed the need for a separate CM face in the Maharashtra elections.
