June was a very good month for University of Michigan football recruiting, July could be off to a tough start.
The Wolverines are already missing out on several top prospects, including edge rusher Maxwell Roy, who committed to rival Ohio State on Monday, but if nothing changes, there should be some good news coming soon for this team.
One of the top prospects coming out of Michigan football is three-star wide receiver Phillip Wright III out of Destrehan (Louisiana) in 2025. Wright III will become the second wide receiver from Louisiana, WR coach Ron Bellamy’s home state, and could become just the third player from the state if he commits.

Now we know when Wright will make his decision.
Rivals reports that Wright has narrowed his choices down to three schools – the University of Michigan, the University of Georgia and Louisiana State University – and is expected to make his admissions decision on July 13.
Here’s how Wright is ranked by the recruitment service:

Wright, an avid track and field athlete, ran the 100-meter dash in 2023 in an astounding 10.62 seconds.
Michigan currently has four-star wide receiver Jacob Washington, a Louisiana native out of Archbishop Shaw in Marrero, La., as mentioned above, and the Wolverines also have four-star Andrew Marsh, out of Katie Jordan in Fulshear, Texas, as a potential recruit.
