$41 million investment in Montana’s Headwaters Tech Hub | Politics

MONTANA — A $41 million investment has been secured for the Headwaters Tech Hub.

According to a press release issued by Montana Senator Jon Tester’s office on the morning of Tuesday, July 2, the second phase of grant funding will further Headwaters Tech Hub’s efforts to expand the state’s sensing technology strengths to address autonomous systems, national defense, precision agriculture and critical resource management.

The funding will come from a bill introduced by Montana Senator Steve Daines called the Endless Frontier Act.

Bringing good-paying jobs back to America, securing our domestic supply chain, and developing next-generation technology really starts with investing right here in the Treasure State, and I will continue to work with the Headwaters team to ensure they have the resources they need to succeed.”

That funding wouldn’t have been possible without the Endless Frontier Act, according to Daines’ office, who is the only member of Montana’s delegation to have introduced the bill.

“Montana is leading the nation in technological innovation, which will help us compete with China, create good-paying jobs here at home, and further boost our economy.” Daines said. “From optics and photonics to quantum computing, we are pleased to help advance Montana’s capabilities to further contribute to the critical research, development and jobs that strengthen our national security and help our nation remain globally competitive.”
