It was a slow week at college, Phil…
Hey everyone! It’s Jim again with another breaking story. Hecken is on his way to the curling bonspiel, and just as he was leaving we got a look at the “home” and “away” uniforms for the U.S. Men’s Olympic Basketball Team. Photos of the women’s team’s away uniform have also been released, but the home uniform has yet to be revealed. Back in April Paul gave us a first look at the men’s blue jerseys, and now we can see them in the shorts and warming up on the court.
I’m going to call this the anti-Lee Greenwood Collection, because using stealth letters in the name of a country makes it seem like we’re not very proud to be American.

No, it’s not as noticeable as other jerseys, thanks to the block shadow. Still, numbers and letters in the same color as the jersey are a distraction from the aesthetic on the court or field and need to go. People in the cheap seats still pay good money to watch live sporting events. They, and the announcers and statisticians who aren’t always close to the action, deserve better. Sure, it’s a good-looking fashion jersey, and that’s probably why Nike is sticking with the style. So, buy it separately and remember, on the court, contrast is key.
Anyway, the women’s jerseys have the same issue, except the color is red instead of blue.

__________
Never mind the blue and red sublimated print on the sides of both the jersey and the shorts, it’s the only one I’ve seen on women’s shorts.
One more thing about the jerseys: just above the jock tag (which is hidden when the jersey is tucked in) the men’s jerseys have the words “Sparks of Destiny” and the women’s jerseys have the words “Embers of Dynasty.”

anything.
For men, we get a closer look at the shorts, which feature stars on the lower side panels.

Then, for on-court warm-ups, he dons a blue, wave-patterned zip-up hoodie that doesn’t respect the placket.

Nike designs look good on a computer screen but not in person. The jerseys and warm-ups looked *this* close. Do better next time.
That’s all for today…
That’s it for today. I have to go pick up my daughter and then I’m back to work tonight. Take care everyone… Enjoy your Fourth of July and see you this weekend!
