JoJo Siwa’s old audio is being used to “ruin” the Mute Challenge in TikTok’s new trend, “Haven’t You Learned Anything, JoJo?” Here’s everything you need to know about the craze.
A viral video from 2023 showed singer and Dance Moms alum JoJo Siwa driving a car while singing Olivia Rodrigo’s “Traitor” from her 2021 album, SOUR.
“But you’re still, you’re still a traitor… Yes, you’re still a traitor,” she sang forcefully in her off-key voice.
The audio from the clip became popular on TikTok as part of the “Haven’t You Learned Anything, JoJo?” trend, in which TikTok users play her singing during quiet moments in their videos.
The trend is meant to spice up the “mute challenge” started by Beyoncé, in which audience members are asked to stay quiet during certain verses of her song “Energy.”
A popular TikTok video created by Adrian Theis featured Olivia Rodrigo taking part in the mute challenge. During the silent parts, Adrian played a popular audio clip of JoJo Siwa.
They also wrote in the video’s description, “That JoJo Siwa ruined the Mute Challenge on her Guts World Tour.”
In another TikTok mocking JoJo, user “danieleffer” said he “loved this trend,” and used the audio in a video of artist Madison Beer performing the Mute Challenge in front of a large crowd.
In some viral TikToks, creators used JoJo Siwa’s audio in their videos without using the mute challenge.
TikTok user “wehsdramaclub” added the audio to a scene from a high school play. “Reminds me of when JoJo watched our high school version of Mama Mia and tried to steal the spotlight,” they wrote.
The “Haven’t You Learned Anything, JoJo?” craze isn’t the only reason she’s been in the news lately: In June, she upset fans by inappropriately groping herself during a Pride performance.
She also faced backlash over her choreography to “Karma,” with some fans calling her dance the “worst” of all time.
