With high school softball play wrapping up across Michigan, the Michigan High School Softball Coaches Association announced the All-State teams. Ella Newman of Unionville-Sebewain District was fortunate to be selected as an honorable mention. She received All-State recognition along with teammates Riley Bettson and Gabby Crum.
USA head coach Mark Reinhart said Newman isn’t afraid to work on her weaknesses as she signs with Kalamazoo College to play softball.
“She will find a way to improve them,” he said.
“Her hitting is getting better and stronger. She’s going to be an excellent college player,” he added. “She just needs to keep working hard. Now, what will she do to help Kalamazoo win? She’s a good teammate. She’s going to work hard. I’m looking forward to watching our kids go to the next level.”
