In a tragic and gruesome incident, a father has been arrested for the heinous act of burying his 15-day-old daughter alive in Talushya, ARY News reported.
Police said the father, identified only as Tayyab, confessed to the brutal act, saying he was financially unable to pay for his daughter’s medical treatment. He admitted to burying the newborn in a bag.
A formal case has been filed against Tayyab, who has pleaded guilty in the matter. ARY News reports that authorities have indicated that, following court instructions, the child’s grave will be opened for a forensic examination through a post-mortem.
In another incident in Lahore’s Defence B area, a couple allegedly severely abused a 13-year-old domestic worker, forcing her to strip and physically torturing her.
Following a complaint filed by the labourer’s mother, law enforcement agencies immediately registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the accused, Hassam, who has been detained in connection with the case and efforts to arrest his wife are reportedly on.
According to the FIR, Tehreeam was subjected to continuous physical abuse, including being stripped naked for alleged theft, and her mother alleged in the FIR that the abuse left her daughter with broken hands and nose.
According to ARY News, Inspector General of Police Kant assured that those responsible for the reprehensible act against Tehreek would be swiftly brought to justice.
