* Heat warning 12pm to 8pm*

It’s a somewhat subjective rating of the weather for that day on a scale of 0 to 10.

2/10: A brutal combination of heat and humidity that can get tiring quickly.

  • today: Mostly sunny, partly cloudy and muggy. Locally storms possible. High: 94 to 99.
  • tonight: Partly cloudy and muggy. Low: 73 to 80.
  • tomorrow: Hot and humid. Storms possible later in the day. Highs: 95 to 100.

The heat is relentless, and the humidity is back after yesterday’s lull. The heat index, which combines both heat and humidity, is expected to exceed 100 every day through Wednesday. We’d love some rain, but if there’s any good news in this week’s forecast, it’s that there’s a good chance of some heavy downpours on Thursday and Friday.

Today (Monday): The sun will be shining and it will get hotter quickly, probably reaching 90 degrees before noon, with afternoon highs soaring into the mid to upper 90s. High humidity (dew points near 70 degrees) will make it feel like 100 to 105 degrees. Again, stay hydrated and take breaks if you’re outdoors for an extended period of time. Localized flash storms are possible, but most areas will remain rain-free. Winds will be light and coming out of the southeast. Reliability: Medium to high

tonight: Barring a sudden storm in the evening, the night will be partly cloudy and muggy. Temperatures probably won’t drop below 80 degrees around downtown, but cooler areas will likely settle in the low to mid 70s. Air conditioners will be running at full speed. Reliability: High

Tomorrow (Tuesday): Tomorrow will be similar to Monday, but some locations may exceed 100 degrees. The heat index will again rise to near 105 degrees. A few storms are possible late, especially east of I-95. Winds will be light and out of the south. Reliability: Moderate to High

tomorrow night: It’ll be another muggy night tonight. Lows near 80 degrees downtown, in the 70s elsewhere. Most people will stay dry. Confidence: Medium to High

Heat and humidity Wednesday It will be similar to Monday and Tuesday, with highs in the mid to upper 90s Fahrenheit and heat indices above 100. There is about a 30% chance of a storm developing during the day as tropical moisture increases in the region, but the remnants of Beryl will likely pass to the northwest. Wednesday night will be muggy with lows in the 70s to near 80 Fahrenheit. Reliability: Medium to High

Not so hot Thursday and Friday Humidity will remain high as the front remains stationary and clouds increase. Rain and storms are possible both days, but most likely on Friday. Heavy rain and flooding is possible in some areas. Highs on Thursday will likely be in the low 90s Fahrenheit, while Friday will likely remain in the 80s Fahrenheit. Lows will be mostly in the 70s Fahrenheit. Reliability: Moderate

There’s a good chance it will dry in time. weekend However, it will still be very warm, if not hot. Highs on Saturday will climb near 90 degrees, but could drop back into the low to mid 90s on Sunday. Overnight lows will be mostly in the 70s. Reliability: Medium
