Fans wonder cartoon network is dead rear #RIPCartoonNetwork It trended on Twitter/X. As the entertainment industry continues to be in turmoil, film and TV fans are always bracing for bad news, but is something actually happening? No, Cartoon Network is not closing. The network is not dead, and as far as we know, there have been no recent layoffs that would spark the #RIPCartoonNetwork trend.

But that doesn’t mean the network is without its problems. Since its merger with Discovery, Warner Bros. Discovery and Warner Bros. Discovery shares have continued to fall from an all-time high of $24.88 immediately after the merger to a low of $7.11 today. CEO David Zaslav continues to make unpopular decisions that seem completely at odds with making money. Additionally, the conglomerate’s reputation has been tarnished as consumers have raised eyebrows over unpopular moves like renaming HBO Max to Max and removing content from its streaming service and canceling content for write-offs.

Despite these setbacks, Cartoon Network doesn’t appear to be heading anywhere. Adjustments like starting Adult Swim two hours earlier each night have been successful for the network. New shows are also in the works: “The Amazing World of Gumball: The Series” premiered this year, and spinoffs of “Adventure Time,” “Regular Show” and “Foster’s Home for Imaginary People” are in development.

So, while Cartoon Network has been hit by post-COVID downsizing and merger cuts that have affected the entire Warner Bros. Discovery division, it’s not shutting down. While there has been criticism of the way the company is being run, it will be a long time before we actually start shouting #RIPCartoonNetwork. Fans can rest assured that CN is safe for now. Despite the challenges, Cartoon Network continues to operate and adapt amidst industry changes.
