A Charleston information technology services company is expanding, expected to create about 100 new jobs.

Portside Technology, located at 997 Morrison Drive, recently expanded its office space to the second and fifth floors of the Charleston Tech Center, according to a news release.

Founded in 2020, Portside Technology provides IT services and technology infrastructure to small and medium-sized businesses in Charleston and the surrounding area, according to the release.

“We are excited to continue our rapid growth in Charleston County. Charleston is a beautiful place to live and work, as well as a business-friendly environment that attracts and retains talented tech talent,” Portside Technology CEO Zach McNamara said in the release. “Exciting opportunities and further growth await us, and we are proud to call Charleston our home.”

According to the release, the company offers a “holistic approach to technology solutions,” with services ranging from design and procurement to installation and ongoing support.

“This investment will not only create valuable job opportunities for our residents, but it will further solidify Charleston’s reputation as a hub for innovation and technology,” Charleston Mayor William Cogswell said in a statement. “We are pleased to help Portside Technology continue to grow and thrive in our community.”

“Portside Technology’s decision to expand within the Charleston Tech Center perfectly represents the momentum we are seeing in Charleston’s technology sector,” Charleston County Economic Development Director Steve Dykes said in the release. “This growth creates attractive opportunities for those looking to build a career in technology.”
