Apparently I’m not the only one: To welcome summer, Hailey Bieber’s nails are painted with miniature fruits and vegetables from the farmers’ market.
Bieber posted a close-up photo of the nail polish he bought at the farmer’s market to Instagram on Wednesday, July 10. In the second photo in a carousel of photos captioned “Summer so far,” he shows off his freshly painted nails with a translucent clear polish, on top of which he’s painted a different fruit or vegetable on each finger, including a tomato, a blueberry, a corn stalk, two cherries, and a carrot.
Well, not exactly Bieber. Her longtime nail artist, Zola Ganzoligt, designed the teeny-tiny snack (and shared it on her Instagram), which felt like a culmination of everything Bieber loves, beauty-wise: She’s usually the launch pad for playful food-inspired trends, like butter yellow nails and strawberry shortcake makeup.
Celebrities might be literally getting their hands on a new summer nail trend: Ganzoligt painted a garden bug-filled French manicure for Bieber’s BFF Kylie Jenner a few days ago, and with yet another celebrity endorsement, outdoor-inspired nails are a bona fide summer beauty trend.
Bieber’s manicure is the perfect blend of simplicity and small detail, inspiring us all to rethink what summery nails mean. And that’s no exaggeration: Fresha reports that searches for “Hailey Bieber nails” have increased 350% in the past week, inspired by Ganzoligt’s sneak peek at her farmer’s market art. The style eschews summer symbols like palm trees and swimsuits for a wholesome, farmhouse look.
Of course, anyone can replicate this look by getting their favorite artist to help them with Bieber’s nails, but if you’re like me and love DIY manicures at home, you can try drawing tiny illustrations with a super-fine nail brush.
