Jammu, July 13: Congress today celebrated the victory of the INDI alliance in several states, which won 10 of the 13 seats whose polls were held on July 10 and whose results were declared today.
Led by JKPCC Vice-Chairman Vinod Sharma, General Secretary (Organisation) Narinder Gupta and other senior leaders, Indian National Congress activists celebrated the victory at Shaheedi Chowk, the party headquarters. Party activists burst firecrackers, distributed sweets and danced to the sound of dhol to celebrate the victory. With this victory, the INDI alliance has further strengthened.
Commenting on the victory, PCC leaders said voters had rallied behind the INDI alliance thanks to the work of alliance partners and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi who led from the front. “It is clear from this result that people are tired of the BJP’s empty slogans,” they said, adding that the Modi factor did not work as the BJP’s vote-splitting strategy had failed to garner support from people of different communities.
Among the prominent leaders who attended the celebrations were PCC secretaries Sahil Sharma and Michael Wazir, Youth Congress I/C HQ Ricky Dalotla, Parshottam Mehra, Kamleth David Babloo, Nasir Masih, Raj Kumar Sodhi, Nek Mohammed, Farooq Salaria, Munish Kumar, Ramesh Chander, Gul Ram, Sunil Kumar, Pappi Kumar and Titu Gill among others.
