Spain and England will play in the Euro 2024 final at the Olympiastadion in Berlin on Sunday, with the winner crowned European champions.
Spain have won the tournament three times and, if they win for the fourth time, would break a tie with Germany and become the first country to win it four times, while England have never won the tournament and are reaching the final again after finishing runners-up at Euro 2020.
Sunday’s showdown will air on Fox at 3pm ET.

Spain substitute Mikel Oyarzabal scored in the 86th minute after an assist from Marc Cucurella and then scored the winning goal just before the end of the game.
Jordan Pickford makes a great save from Ramin Yamal
England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford made a brilliant save from Spain’s teenage sensation Lamine Yamal in the 82nd minute, as Spain continued to win possession high up the pitch and England continued to defend ferociously with minutes remaining in the game.
Cole Palmer goal! England 1, Spain 1
Cole Palmer came on as a substitute and scored England’s equaliser in the 73rd minute with a low left-footed shot from outside the penalty area.
The goal came out of nowhere for England, but it was a neat move with Bukayo Saka and Jude Bellingham feeding Palmer, the 22-year-old enjoying his breakthrough debut season with Chelsea after scoring 22 Premier League goals in his debut season at the club following his move from Manchester City.
Cole Palmer for Kobe Mainu: 70 minutes
England’s 19-year-old midfielder Kobe Mainu was substituted in the 70th minute and replaced by the more attacking Cole Palmer for the final 20 minutes of the final game, when Spain were leading 1-0.
Mikel Oyarzabal replaces Álvaro Morata: 68′
Spain took off captain Alvaro Morata for the final 20 minutes and replaced him with wide midfielder Mikel Oyarzabal.
Ollie Watkins comes on for Harry Kane: 61 min.
England’s semi-final hero Ollie Watkins came on for captain Harry Kane in the 61st minute with his team trailing 1-0 in the final as manager Gareth Southgate sought to restore some vitality.
Watkins came on as a substitute against the Netherlands and scored England’s winning goal in the 90th minute.
Spain looks set to score again
Spain applied relentless pressure for the entire 10 minutes after Nico Williams’ goal, winning the ball high up the pitch and creating numerous chances to score, with Dani Olmo and Williams both having shots and John Stones forcing a clearance off the line.

Less than two minutes into the second half, Spain’s Nico Williams beat England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford to score the game’s first goal, after a brilliant move by 17-year-old Lamine Yamal who fed Williams.
Williams, who plays for Athletic Bilbao, turned 22 on Friday.
Rodri was sent off at the start of the second half.
Spain’s midfield star Rodri was forced off with injury at half-time of the final and was replaced by Martin Zubimendi.
The 28-year-old Rodri has won the English Premier League four years in a row with Manchester City and is considered arguably the best defensive midfielder in the world.

The first half at the Olympiastadion in Berlin was a spectacular one, with Spain dominating possession. Despite England becoming much more settled in the game, Spain kept up the pressure throughout the first 45 minutes, winning six corners to England’s one.
England were a good defensive team but Nico Williams was a dangerous presence on the left flank of Spain’s attack.
Harry Kane Yellow Card: 25 min
England captain Harry Kane was booked for a tackle with his boots, just minutes after he was seen speaking to referee François Letexier about Dani Carvajal not being shown a yellow card for bringing down Bukayo Saka in an attempt to stop an England attack.
Kyle Walker injured while playing for England
England defender Kyle Walker limped onto the field after being tackled along the sideline but remains in the game for the time being, with manager Gareth Southgate currently allowing potential replacement Kieran Trippier to warm up.
But Walker seemed OK and in the 15th minute he made a run down the backline and crossed low to win a corner.
Spain dominates first 10 minutes against England
Spain had 83 percent ball possession in the first 10 minutes of the Euro 2024 final and completed 86 passes compared to England’s 13.
Spain had a lot of the ball near England’s penalty box but couldn’t find an opening, and England defended well but may have to open one at some point.
Euro 2024 final begins: Spain vs Italy
The 2024 European Championship final is being held at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin. England has never won the Euros, while Spain is looking to win it for the fourth time, which would put them level with Germany as the all-time winners.
England maintained a low block for the opening minutes of the match, choosing not to put much pressure on Spain high up the field.

Spain v England referee
François Letexier will be the referee for the Euro 2024 final. The 35-year-old Frenchman will be the youngest ever referee to officiate a European Championship final.
“It’s a big event and very emotional for the players and the spectators so you have to expect the unexpected,” Letexier told UEFA.com.

Harry Kane wants to erase painful memories of Euro 2019
Captain Harry Kane and his England team-mates will be desperate to erase the disappointment of losing the last European Championship final by beating Spain in Berlin on Sunday and winning a first major trophy in nearly 60 years.
Kane was one of eight players who played in the World Cup in Germany three years ago, when England lost at home to Italy on penalties after the final whistle at Wembley Stadium.
“After the final, obviously a lot of us were heartbroken at the result and, as always, it’s been a long journey to get back to where we are now so the resilience shown by the players deserves a lot of credit,” Kane said in his pre-final press conference on Saturday.
“And that really speaks to the mentality of this team. So we’re really happy to be in another European final and, of course, we’re eager to go one step further than last time.”

Why does England say it is “coming home”?
The phrase comes from a song called “Three Lions,” released by David Baddiel and Frank Skinner with rock band The Lightning Seeds before Euro 1996.
Euro 1996 was held in England and the song speaks of the national team’s “30 years of suffering” and disappointment since winning the World Cup in 1966.
Weather in Berlin Sunday
Berlin looked at its best during the day, with warm temperatures and blue skies and fans clad in team jerseys roaming the streets, but sporadic rain fell before the stadium gates opened three hours before kick-off.
But by the time the game began, the skies were sunny and the temperature was forecast to be 68 degrees.
Supporters wearing team colours were seen enjoying friendly drinks in the traditional beer gardens near the stadium and waiting in long queues to get into the venue.

Fabian Ruiz shines in Spain’s midfield
Spain midfielder Fabian Ruiz wasn’t on many people’s radar when Euro 2024 began, having struggled to maintain a starting place for both PSG and the national team.
But after a series of impressive performances in Germany, he finally started to catch the attention of fans and critics.
The 28-year-old has been the driving force behind Spain’s six straight wins leading up to Sunday’s final against England at the Olympiastadion in Berlin as they seek to win a record fourth Euros.
Fabian has been one of the tournament’s bright spots and has become a linchpin in coach Luis de la Fuente’s project after being overlooked for almost two years since being left out of the 2022 World Cup squad by former coach Luis Enrique.

Jesús Navas: ‘My country means everything to me’
Spain international Jesus Navas retires at the end of the year and has been plagued by a hip injury for almost five seasons, but nothing will stop the 38-year-old from competing for one last big trophy when he takes on England in Sunday’s Euro 2024 final.
Navas, who has been with the team for 15 years, is the last of the Spain golden generation that won world and European championships more than a decade ago.
Navas, who won the World Cup in 2010 and European champions two years later, plans to retire in December but is hoping to cap a sensational career with another trophy.
“I’ve had back problems for four or five years but playing for my country means everything to me,” Navas said at a press conference on Saturday.
“Everything hurts afterwards, but it’s important to give it your all on the day and be the same person with the same humility.”

England have another chance to win the Euros
Gareth Southgate is 90 minutes away from achieving his eight-year mission of “earning the respect of the footballing world” and England will finally be known on highlight reel screens if they beat Spain in the Euro 2024 final on Sunday.
Southgate was holding his penultimate press conference of the tournament, deep inside Berlin’s Olympic Stadium, just 24 hours before his team set off in search of another major trophy to match the 1966 World Cup.
The “58 years of hardship” that followed Wembley success was largely a cycle of inflated expectations followed by huge disappointment, and Southgate felt the boom and bust was a self-perpetuating cycle.
“We have tried from the beginning to change our thinking and be more honest about our position as a footballing nation,” he said.

Spain “will try to impose their strength” in the final
Spain coach Luis de la Fuente said on Saturday that the best advice he could give to his players as they prepare to face England in the Euro 2024 final was to stay true to their identity of playing entertaining football.
Despite missing several key players, Spain swept the tournament with six straight wins, including a comeback victory over France in the semi-finals.
They have done so without sacrificing their attacking style, mentality and confidence, which de la Fuente knows they must carry into Sunday’s match.
“If we are not Spain, we have no chance,” de la Fuente said at a press conference on Saturday.
