The meeting saw an in-depth discussion on various aspects of the party’s performance in the elections. The participants reviewed the loopholes and shortcomings they encountered and deliberated strategies to address these issues. The conversation also moved towards the possibility of parliamentary elections and the way forward and roadmap were discussed.
The party leaders from central Kashmir came up with a series of suggestions and measures to widen the party’s reach and ensure that its manifesto and policy platforms reach all walks of life. A key recommendation was to appoint representatives from constituencies where leadership is currently lacking, to ensure clarity and understanding at all levels.
Mufti appreciated the efforts of party members during the assembly elections. He stressed that the PDP is not just a political organisation but represents the ideas, revolution and principles envisaged by the late Mufti Muhammad Sayeed.
She reiterated her commitment to his vision of lifting the people of Jammu and Kashmir out of their hardships and making the region a sustainable and viable part of India.
Addressing party cadres in central Kashmir, Mufti said, “Our mission is to resolve all challenges in Jammu and Kashmir peacefully and comprehensively. The systematic disempowerment of our people will be fought politically by the JKPDP. I urge all party workers to take this message and the journey of the PDP to the doorsteps of people and strengthen our presence at the grassroots level.”
She further added that the PDP will firmly oppose any orders of the Central government that empower the local governments and usurp the powers of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, the Chief Minister and the elected government.
“We will fight and take this fight to its logical conclusion,” she said, stressing the need for party cadres to work in their respective constituency assemblies and be ready to face the onslaught democratically, peacefully and electorally.
The meeting ended with renewed resolve and unity among party members, ready to face future challenges and work towards a brighter future for Jammu and Kashmir.
