The heads of Microsoft, Google and Amazon all condemned the attack and wished Trump a speedy recovery, with Elon Musk saying he would fully support Trump in the US presidential election.

Last weekend, the world was shocked when former US President Donald Trump was shot in the ear at a campaign rally.

Trump was surrounded by US Secret Service agents after a gunman opened fire on Trump and the crowd, killing one person and seriously wounding two others. The gunman, identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, was shot and killed by Secret Service agents.

Various political leaders, including Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris and US President Joe Biden, publicly condemned the attack and called for calm to prevent this type of political violence. The incident also prompted comments from various prominent technology leaders, who condemned the attack and voiced their support for Trump.

Jeff Bezos said Trump showed “extraordinary grace and courage” during the attack, adding that his “heart goes out to the victims and their families.” Bezos also referred to Trump as a “former president” in his X post.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai both referred to Trump as “President Trump” in their responses. Pichai said he was “shocked” by the shooting and that “political violence is unacceptable and we must all stand together and strongly oppose it.”

Musk supports Trump

Meanwhile, X owner Elon Musk has spoken out about the incident on his social media platforms. In one post, Musk said he fully supports Trump and wishes him “a speedy recovery.”

The endorsement came shortly after Bloomberg reported that Musk had donated to a pro-Trump political action committee called America PAC, and The Wall Street Journal claimed earlier this year that Trump was considering giving Musk an advisory role in the US if he was re-elected.

Musk also criticized the security at the rally, saying that “the head of the Secret Service and the head of the security force should resign” in the wake of the assassination attempt. Musk also reposted an X-post by Bill Ackman, CEO of Perishing Square, who officially endorsed Trump yesterday (July 14).
