For decades, we had brown hair and blonde hair, but there was no middle ground between the two. When you went to the hair salon, you had the choice between a warm dark brown or a light blonde. But today, the hair color options in the beauty industry have expanded significantly, with new concepts emerging every day.
First there were delicious shades like cookie butter brunette, then earthy trends like sunbeam blonde and even western-inspired colors like denim blue, all led by our favorite celebrities. And now, just in time for summer holidays, beachy Bora Bora blonde is bringing the spotlight thanks to singer Tate McRae’s new hair color.
Tate McRae’s beachy Bora Bora blonde hair
As you head off on your long-awaited summer holidays, you’re probably looking for ways to brighten and enhance your style. If you don’t want to go full blonde but would like to add more volume and dimension to your hair, the aptly named “Bora Bora Blonde,” a look debuted by celebrity hairstylist Matt Rez this morning on singer and dancer Tate McRae, is perfect.
Blonde hair has been popular for a while now, with subtle blends of blonde and brunette hues creating a natural, summery look. McRae’s Bora Bora blonde is the ultimate hair color crossover. Normally a fan of brown-forward looks, Lez wrote in the caption of a post debuting the singer’s hairstyle, “I lightened @tatemcrae 💛 ‘s hair and called it ‘Bora Bora Blonde.'” McRae’s roots are still dark, but with lighter blonde strands around her face and throughout her ends, the look is quintessential beach look.
