Former United Nations ambassador and Republican primary candidate Nikki Haley spoke at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee on Monday, voicing her support for Republican nominee Donald Trump..
Haley said the Republican candidate had asked her to speak in the name of “unity,” as she appealed to supporters who might be reluctant to back Trump.
“You don’t have to agree with Trump 100 percent of the time to vote for him,” Haley said. “Let me tell you, I haven’t always agreed with President Trump.”
Haley was a fierce critic of Trump during the primaries and did not immediately endorse him when she dropped out of the race in March.
“We all need to acknowledge that this is a time when we need a new generation of leaders,” Haley said in response to a question about Donald Trump’s comments about Israel at a USA Today town hall in October. “We have to leave behind the negativity, the confusion and the baggage of the past.”
Haley slammed Biden’s age, foreign policy and border policy.
