Due to ongoing extreme temperatures, NJ TRANSIT is currently experiencing heat-related rail equipment issues affecting air conditioning units and other electronic components. Important Note: As a practice, NJ TRANSIT will not operate a train in passenger service if it finds there are issues with its air conditioning, even if the train is able to run.
Our rail maintenance crews are working around the clock to make necessary repairs and return affected equipment to commercial operation as quickly as possible, but some trains will not run. To minimize the impact to our customers where possible, we have strategically selected trains across multiple rail lines at different times of the operating day to ensure no one rail line is disproportionately affected.
Thursday, July 18th and Friday, July 19th, The following trains will not operate or will be coupled with other trains and will have additional stops. We have listed suggested alternative trains for your reference.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this temporary adjustment and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
