Joe Biden can’t stop bashing the press as his political career nears its end

In what may be one of his final interviews as a presidential candidate, Joe Biden again took aim at what has become one of his favorite targets: fake news.

During the 2020 election, the media blitzed Donald Trump and ignored legitimate reporting, such as that about key White House adviser Hunter Biden’s laptop, but Biden, who enjoyed protection from the press throughout the campaign, has begun to attack the press as questions about his campaign have grown.

On Wednesday, hours before the COVID-19 announcement that Unidos US President Jeanette Murguía announced to the world in Las Vegas as she explained why the president was an hour and a half late to speak at a luncheon, Biden appeared on a Univision radio show where he was asked if he felt “betrayed” by the defections of supporters like George Clooney, Michael Douglas, Ashley Judd and Democratic Congressman Adam Schiff.

The troubled octogenarian was sweet to his Hollywood friends and a California congressman, but aimed his anger at the media.

“And I was a little relieved when you said you’re not a political reporter,” he told the host, cementing his criticism of the media.

“Think about it. There are a lot of really good reporters out there, but they don’t have the ceiling. The ability to move forward is very difficult. And, in other words, there are no editors anymore. Without editors, you can’t say something that’s not true. They don’t say that anymore,” the president said, raising his voice.

He then spoke about artificial intelligence and how it is used for false advertising, before again slamming the political press.

“So instead of controlling the media, we have to figure out how to make sure the media isn’t controlled and they can do what they want, but we have to figure out how to say this is true, this is fundamentally true. And that’s what we’re trying to do in this election, is expose some of the outrageous statements that have been said,” Biden said.

The president’s petulance with the press has become a standard tactic in what appears to be the final stretch of his half-century political career.

“Why aren’t you talking about the 18, no, 28 lies he told? What are your thoughts on this? Why isn’t the press talking about it? It’s confirmed that he lied 28 times in the debate…. Seriously, you’re not going to answer the question, but why isn’t the press talking about all of the lies he told?” Biden blasted NBC’s Lester Holt in a recent interview as he attempted yet another detailed analysis of his disastrous debate with Trump.

At a rally in Detroit last week, Biden attempted to impersonate Trump and antagonize the handpicked audience members against reporters covering his remarks.

“They’re attacking me because I sometimes get my name wrong,” Biden said.

“I don’t say ‘Bill,’ I say ‘Charlie,'” Biden said, reiterating that Donald Trump, the most highly scrutinized candidate in American history, “has earned immunity.”
