What is the Money Peace Hair Trend?
“Money piece hair is a hairstyle that features a prominent bright color, mainly around the face,” explains stylist Charlie Ray Hamill of Blue Tit Portobello. “The brightness is the ‘money piece,’ and it’s usually a blonde or very light shade of brown.”
While the hues may sound like they’re clashing, this coloring technique has become a huge hit on TikTok, with over 133.2 million posts tagged #hairmoneypiece, where creators show off their dyed hair in expertly styled looks. teeth “It’s a popular trend at the moment,” says Charlie, “and it’s a fun, daring change without having to change your entire head of hair. It’s also pretty cost-effective – minimal risk, maximum reward.”

With the likes of Beyonce, Hailey Bieber and Jennifer Lopez all sporting this trend, it’s safe to say this hairstyle is only going to get more popular in the future.
Who does this hairstyle look good on?
Luckily, money piece hair is a very adaptable trend. “It’s a style that suits everyone,” says Charlie. “It’s flattering and adds a bit of edge to hair. Plus, it can be as bold or subtle as the client’s personality requires, so it really suits everyone.”
How to ask for money at the salon (and what to expect)
Charlie suggests bringing some images and ideas to show your stylist. “I think it’s helpful to have some reference photos,” he says. “Especially considering how many celebrities wear money pieces, you should have plenty of references. If not, just explaining how bold or natural you want your money piece to be can help your stylist.”
When it comes to creating this style, Charlie says that while results may vary from salon to salon, the overall result should be the same thanks to the use of thin layers in the front. “Different stylists will definitely have their own techniques,” he says. “Personally, I like to use foil in the back-to-back slices for extra lift and visibility.”
@angelinamurillo3 How to Create the Perfect Money Piece Since everyone’s hair is so different, it’s fair to say there are many different ways to create a money piece, but since she has thinner hair at the temples and a little thinner hair, I like to create a thin money piece by growing it back a little and making it bolder from the middle to the ends. How to Style Money Peace Hair
When it comes to styling your money piece hair, there are no real rules—there’s room for experimentation—but we do recommend opting for something that lets the vibrant color pop. “Money pieces are typically placed around the face and look beautiful when styled in beachy or loose waves,” suggests Charlie. “Curling your hair away from the face is also flattering, as it allows the color to shine through even more.”
What next?
Does that mean changing the colour? “Currently, money pieces are typically made in different shades of blonde,” says Charlie. “I think more people are experimenting with their hair and money pieces could work with brighter colours too. Think bright colours scattered around the face. Or you could have multiple money pieces all around the perimeter of your head, not just at the front but also underneath. It could evolve that way.”
