Priscilla Presley sues former business partner, alleging financial elder abuse

Since Elvis Presley’s only child, Lisa Marie Presley, passed away in January 2023, sole ownership of Presley’s estate has been transferred to his granddaughter, Riley Keough, relegating his ex-wife, Priscilla Presley, to a supporting role, and she’s not happy about that.

Shortly after her daughter’s death, Priscilla filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court challenging an amendment to her living trust that named her granddaughter as sole trustee and removed herself and her former business manager, Barry Siegel, as co-trustees. Priscilla, who was permitted to act as special counsel to the trust and receive a monthly fee for that role, is now back in court, alleging that her former business partner and Priscilla Presley Partners, LLC, engaged in “elder financial abuse” that resulted in the misappropriation of more than $1 million and forced her into “a form of indentured servitude.”

In details of the latest lawsuit, first reported by TMZ and picked up by outlets like People, Priscilla’s lawyer Marty Singer wrote that her ex-partner, Bridget Crews, “gained her trust, isolated her from the most important people in her life and led her to believe they would take care of her (personally and financially),” leaving her stranded.

“This conduct arose from a heinous, meticulously orchestrated conspiracy by defendants to prey on elderly women,” Singer added in the lawsuit.

Responding to the allegations, Cruz posted a Winston Churchill quote to his Instagram on Saturday afternoon, writing, “The truth will always come out. Sometimes you have to stop and pray for those who have hurt you so deeply that it takes your breath away, leaves you speechless, breaks your heart and wounds your soul. Have faith that God will do it. I pray every day for those who need it most, even those who have hurt me.”

As Vulture points out, Cruz sued Priscilla in October 2023, alleging that “Priscilla wrongfully withdrew from our business partnership around the time of the death of his daughter, Lisa Marie.”

Priscilla, who works primarily as an auctioneer, and Cruz met through mutual friends and began a working relationship in 2021 after discussing how they could help Cruz sell Elvis memorabilia. [Priscilla] According to the lawsuit, the woman asked the lawyer to grant her power of attorney, control of family and personal trusts and management of her bank accounts.
