President Joe Biden has withdrawn from the presidential race after weeks of growing pressure.
Biden has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic candidate to succeed him.
Democratic lawmakers were quick to throw their support behind Harris.
Following weeks of mounting pressure, President Joe Biden announced Sunday that he was withdrawing from the presidential race.
Democrats have just a few weeks left to endorse a new candidate to face off against former President Donald Trump in November.
Biden’s endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris makes her the front-runner, but it’s unclear whether other candidates will run against her. Harris accepted Biden’s endorsement on Sunday evening.
As of Monday morning, a number of former and current Democratic lawmakers have already voiced their support for the vice president.
