News agency ANI reported that Vartaknagar police have registered a case under the Indian Passport Act and other relevant provisions against the woman and unidentified persons who assisted her in preparing the fake documents.
The prime suspect, identified as Nagma Noor Maqsood Ali (alias Sanam Khan), reportedly obtained fake Aadhaar card, PAN card and birth certificate for her minor daughter. Authorities suspect that an unidentified accomplice helped her obtain fake documents and travel to Pakistan. The matter came to light upon her return to India, leaving authorities perplexed and sprung into immediate action. Police are investigating why she went to Pakistan, who helped her travel and the motive for her actions, said a police officer at Vartak Nagar police station, where she is currently being questioned.
Police officials said the accused had falsely identified himself and obtained important documents including Aadhaar card, PAN card and his daughter’s birth certificate from a centre in Lokmanya Nagar. These forged documents were then used in her passport application.
