More than 10,000 athletes from over 200 countries will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals this summer at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The Games, which consist of 329 events across 32 different sports, are currently running until August 11 in Paris and 16 other cities on the French mainland (with one additional event in Tahiti).
This year marks the sixth Olympic Games held in France (three Summer and three Winter) and marks the 100th anniversary of the first Paris Olympics in 1924.

How many athletes in total will compete at the Paris 2024 Olympics?
This year’s Olympics will see 10,714 athletes from 206 countries take part.
Which country will have the most athletes competing in the 2024 Paris Olympics?
The United States will be sending the largest national delegation to the Paris Summer Olympics with a total of 593 athletes.
Host nation France comes in second with 573 participants, followed by Australia (460), Germany (427), Japan (404), Italy (403), China (388), Spain (382), Great Britain (327) and Canada (318).

How many U.S. athletes will compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics?
The U.S. team will send at least one athlete to 31 of the 32 sports on this year’s Olympic program (the handball team is the only exception).
The 2024 U.S. Olympic team will have 592 athletes, slightly fewer than the team from the most recent Summer Olympics in Tokyo (613).
Track and field will be the largest participating event in the U.S., with a total of 120 athletes scheduled to compete.
