It’s day three of the 2024 Paris Olympics, and today is another packed schedule. Frederick Richard, Brodie Malone and the U.S. men’s gymnastics team will compete in the team final. Five finals are scheduled for today’s Olympic swimming schedule, with U.S. backstroke specialist Ryan Murphy and breaststroker Lilly King headlining the lineup.

The U.S. women’s basketball team will face Japan for the first time in the 2024 Olympics.

At least seven U.S. teams will compete in six team sports for a total of 25 sports, and USA TODAY Sports will bring you live results, medal counts, highlights and more all day long. Tune in.

Here are some highlights from the Olympic schedule: Peacock will be streaming all sports and events live from Paris.

  • swimming Preliminaries will begin at 5 a.m. The finals of the women’s 400-meter individual medley, men’s 200-meter freestyle, men’s 100-meter backstroke, women’s 100-meter backstroke and women’s 200-meter freestyle will begin at 2:30 p.m. The finals will be broadcast on NBC and preliminaries will be broadcast on USA Network.

Olympic Basketball Today: What to Watch

The U.S. women’s team will begin their quest for an eighth consecutive Olympic gold medal. The No. 1 ranked team in the world will face off against No. 9 ranked Japan. The U.S. and Japan are in the same group as Germany and Belgium for the tournament.

Olympic Swimming Today: What to Watch

Ryan Murphy is one of the best backstroke swimmers in the world, having won gold in the 100m backstroke at the 2023 World Championships. He also won silver in the 200m backstroke at the World Championships and was the lead swimmer on the gold medal-winning 4x100m medley relay for the United States. At the 2016 Rio Olympics, Murphy swept the gold medals in the 100m backstroke and 200m backstroke. He will be coming into Paris with six Olympic medals.

It could be a big night for the Americans in the pool, with Lilly King the medal favorite in the women’s 100 breaststroke, an event she has won in the past two Olympic Games (gold in Rio and bronze in Tokyo).
