USA Swimming has announced the roster of 104 swimmers selected for the 2024 National Selection Camp to be held in January 2025 at the Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The men’s camp will be held first from January 9th to 12th, followed by the women’s camp from January 23rd to 26th. The players will experience the daily life of a national team player through the three-day camp. Qualified coaches can accompany athletes to camps to take advantage of educational and networking opportunities.
Athletes participating in the camp were selected based on the following criteria:
- Top three athletes in each event based on Long Course Meter (LCM) competition rankings from September 1, 2023 to August 31, 2024.
- The 6 girls and 6 boys with the highest individual IMX PowerPoint scores from September 1, 2023 to August 31, 2024.
- The top two open water athletes 17 and under in the 7.5 kilometer and the top two in the 5 kilometer at the 2024 USA Swimming Open Water Junior Nationals.
The target age range is 14 to 15 years old for girls and 15 to 16 years old for boys. Athletes who have been selected to the National Team or National Junior Team or who have traveled overseas as part of the USA Swimming team are not eligible to compete. A player may only participate in one national selection camp.
The camp is normally held in October, but has been postponed until January because the pool undergoes maintenance every four years after the Olympics.
North Carolina LSC leads with 11 players selected. Irvine Nova Aquatics (Southern California) and Long Island Aquatic Club (Metropolitan) have the most individual invitees, with four each.
