As the 2024-25 Iowa women’s basketball campaign opens with tonight’s exhibition match vs. Missouri Western, the program features new games highlighting the Hawkeyes’ third straight Big Ten Tournament title and last season’s national championship run. The previous intro video was released.
The video begins with a clip of confetti falling from the Target Center rafters and the Hawkeyes’ Big Ten title ring. It blends seamlessly into various promotional shots of each team member, including highlights of key moments in Iowa State’s 2024 NCAA Tournament run.
With Iowa under new leadership following the retirement of Lisa Bruder, head coach Jan Jensen has the Hawkeyes on track to not only win their fourth consecutive Big Ten Tournament title, but also the program’s first national title. I’m planning on getting ready.
The Hawkeyes enter the season with a target on their backs, but with USC, UCLA, Oregon and Washington in the conference, they will face stiffer competition.
In USA TODAY Sports’ preseason Big Ten poll, Iowa ranked tied for sixth with Maryland, behind USC, UCLA, Ohio State, Nebraska and Indiana.
Missouri Western’s exhibition game against the Griffins tonight at Carver-Hawkeye Arena will give fans a taste of what’s to come from the Hawkeyes this season.
Iowa State’s projected starters are transfer guard Lucy Olsen, junior guard Taylor McCabe, redshirt senior guard Kylie Feuerbach, junior forward Hannah Stuelke and freshman center Eva Heiden.
Tonight’s game will be broadcast on BTN+ and is scheduled to start at 6:30 PM Central Time.
Iowa State’s regular season and home opener will be against the Northern Illinois Huskies on November 6th at 6:30pm CT. The contest will also be streamed on BTN+.
