The DNA profiling report has confirmed that the human remains recovered from the Edhi Cemetery belong to Mustafa Amir, a BBA student who went missing in January and was allegedly murdered, Express News reported.

The charred remains were initially found inside a car near the Hub checkpost on January 12 and were buried by the Edhi Foundation on January 16. On Friday, a three-member medical board exhumed the body under the supervision of a judicial magistrate.

Following the confirmation of the body’s identity, the remains were handed over to the family, who announced that the funeral would take place after Asr prayers today (Sunday) at Masjid-e-Ali, Main Khayaban-e-Muhafiz, Phase VI, DHA.

The body was kept at the Edhi morgue before being handed over to the family.

Meanwhile, the police have taken four people, including the son of a famous TV actor, into custody. The investigating police took the arrested suspects to the Dariji location and the suspects confirmed the location where the car was set on fire.

According to details, the investigation into the Mustafa Amir murder case is taking a new turn on a daily basis. The investigating police have taken four youth, including the son of famous TV actor Sajid Hassan, into custody.

The investigating officer said that action has been taken on the orders of higher authorities. An operation is underway against those who sell, buy and use drugs. Drugs have also been recovered from Sajid Hassan’s son. Sajid Hassan’s son is also being questioned about Mustafa Amir and the arrested accused Armaghan.

DIG CIA Muqaddas Haider said that the AVCC team took the arrested accused Shiraz and Armaghan to the limits of the Dariji police station in Balochistan in the Mustafa Amir murder case. The accused Armaghan and Shiraz pointed out the place where the vehicle was burned. In addition to the AVCC, the investigation team of the Hub Police was also present at the scene of the incident. The relatives of the deceased Mustafa Amir were also present with the police.

Moreover, a report the police investigator submitted before ATC No 3 on Saturday details Armughan’s alleged confession to torturing a girl, named Zuma, a day before the killing of Amir.

During police investigation, DNA tests were conducted on five blood swabs and four carpet pieces found at Armughan’s bungalow. The blood on one of the carpet pieces was confirmed to be that of the victim, Mustafa Amir. However, blood found on two other carpets was identified as that of an unidentified girl.

Armaghan admitted to physically assaulting and injuring the girl, Zuma, in the same room where Mustafa Amir was kept. Police are now trying to trace Zuma to secure her testimony and take her blood sample for DNA testing.

Meanwhile, an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Saturday granted a five-day extension to the physical remand of Armughan and Shiraz, the main accused in the murder of Mustafa Amir.

When asked by the judge to explain reasons for an extension in remand, the IO stated that the accused needed further questioning to help in the investigation.
