PESHAWAR:
Authorities have imposed a partial curfew on multiple routes across Upper and Lower South Waziristan district to ensure public safety amid security concerns.
According to a notification issued by Tank deputy commissioner, the curfew will be enforced on the Beni Zai Ragzai to Jandola, Tanai, and Sarokai to Jandola routes in Upper South Waziristan. Additionally, Cadet College Road will remain closed from Wana Zalai Camp during the curfew period.
As per the official notification, a complete restriction on movement will be in place on March 17, 2025 (Monday), from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. During this time, roads leading to Kod Qila, Manzai, Khargai, Ahmed Wam, and Jandola will remain closed to all kinds of traffic.
Authorities have urged the public to cooperate with security forces and strictly adhere to the curfew restrictions to avoid any inconvenience or security risks.
Police fought off two terrorist attacks on Dadiwala and Pezu police stations in Lakki Marwat district late Friday night. According to officials, heavily armed terrorists launched attacks on both stations but police retaliated with full force, forcing the attackers to flee. No casualties were reported in either incident.
Separately, an IED explosion targeted a police vehicle on Landi Wah Road also in Lakki Marwat. The driver and a constable sustained minor injuries in the attack. One attacker was killed in the retaliatory action. Police launched a manhunt for the other attackers.
In other violence, terrorists launched simultaneous attacks on multiple police stations and three security forts in Tank district on Saturday. According to reports, terrorists targeted Kot Murtaza Post, FC Fort Sur Kamar, FC Fort Murtaza, and Gomal police station. The intense gunfire and explosions created panic among the local population.
