Pakistan’s security forces killed two terrorists, including a high-value target, during an intelligence-based operation in the Timergara area of Lower Dir, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement said on Friday.

The deceased included Hafizullah alias “Kochwan”, a key terrorist linked to multiple attacks against security personnel and civilians, the ISPR statement added. The operation took place overnight between April 10 and 11.

Forces launched the strike after confirming the presence of the terrorists in the area.

A fierce exchange of fire ensued, during which the two terrorists were killed and their hideout destroyed, officials said.

Hafizullah was among the most wanted figures by law enforcement and carried a bounty of Rs 10 million. The military said he played a central role in orchestrating terror activities across the region.

A clearance operation remains underway amid concerns of more terrorists in the area, ISPR said. The Pakistani army reiterated its resolve to eliminate terrorism across the country.

Earlier this week, security forces killed nine militants in an intelligence-based operation in the Takwara area of Dera Ismail Khan late Sunday night.

According to ISPR, among those killed were several terrorists, including Shireen, a high-value target and militant ring leader, who was wanted for his involvement in multiple terrorist attacks.

Shireen had also been involved in the targeted killing of civilians and was responsible for the martyrdom of Captain Hasnain Akhtar.

The military said troops launched the raid based on confirmed intelligence regarding the presence of militants in the area. A fierce exchange of fire followed, in which the militants were “sent to hell,” the statement added.
