Curfew imposed in lower South Waziristan for tomorrow

A curfew has been announced in various areas of lower South Waziristan for Wednesday. According to a notification issued by the district administration, the curfew will remain in effect from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm.

The notification, signed by Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nasir Khan, stated that Section 144 has been imposed in several areas, including Tehsil Shakai, Tiarza Gate, Anzarchina, Azizabad Chowk, Tanai, Karb Kot, and others.

During the curfew, all movement will be strictly prohibited, and all markets, shops, and commercial centres will remain closed.

The district administration has warned that anyone found violating the curfew will face strict legal action under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code. Citizens have been advised to pull their vehicles off the road at least 100 metres away if they see a security forces’ vehicle, to prevent any untoward incident.

The administration has appealed to the public to fully cooperate in maintaining law and order and to strictly adhere to the issued directives.

It is worth mentioning that earlier on Tuesday, a curfew was also enforced on the Angoor Adda Road along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, causing significant inconvenience to the public.

Meanwhile, members of the public have voiced concerns over the curfew notification, suggesting that schoolchildren, emergency patients, and vehicles carrying fruits, vegetables, and essential goods should be allowed passage to ensure the continuity of emergency services.
