Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday met his elder brother and party president Nawaz Sharif at the family estate in Jati Umrah, where the two leaders discussed party tickets, by-poll strategy and the worsening flood situation in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P).
According to media reports, the prime minister consulted Nawaz Sharif regarding suitable PML-N candidates for constituencies that have fallen vacant following the disqualification of PTI parliamentarians.
The two also reportedly reviewed the party’s broader election strategy.
During the meeting, the elder Sharif stressed that resolving public issues and aiding flood victims should remain the party’s top priority in order to further strengthen public trust.
PM Shehbaz briefed the PML-N supremo in detail on the flood situation in K-P, outlining the ongoing rescue and relief efforts and the government’s plans for the rehabilitation of affected people.
