Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti underscored the need for stringent operations against terrorists in the province on Thursday, affirming that the writ of the state will not be challenged.

Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, Bugti detailed an intelligence-based operation conducted the previous day. “Our forces reached the house where terrorists were hiding, and they opened fire. In the ensuing exchange, two terrorists were killed, while one, Jehanzaib, surrendered, and another accomplice was apprehended alive,” he said.

He added that the arrested terrorist was actively recruiting terrorists in Dalbandin and supplying weapons, describing him as a “hardcore terrorist.”

Bugti emphasised that no concessions would be made to terrorists targeting civilians. “We are working to maintain peace in Balochistan. Terrorists will not be allowed to challenge the writ of the state,” he asserted.

The chief minister also addressed claims that violence was a result of deprivation or grievances among the Baloch community. “Who says we did not negotiate? We were under no pressure, yet we attempted negotiations. Some people did not pick up weapons, while others did. Does deprivation justify killing innocent people? There is no justification for such violence,” he said.

Bugti further criticised groups spreading propaganda about missing persons, stating, “We will not allow a state within a state to be established inside Pakistan.”

The press conference highlighted the provincial government’s commitment to restoring security and curbing militant activities in the region, signaling a firm approach against both active terrorists and destabilising propaganda.
