PESHAWAR:

Adviser to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister on Information and Public Relations, Barrister Dr Saif, has said that Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur held an important meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan at Adiala Jail on Monday.

The meeting lasted for more than two hours, during which detailed discussions were held on law and order, security, and other key matters concerning the province. Imran Khan expressed full confidence in Chief Minister Gandapur, who briefed him on the provincial government’s initiatives to maintain peace and security.

According to Saif, the Chief Minister also informed Imran Khan about plans to convene tribal Jirgas for peace efforts. The two leaders discussed the issue of talks with Afghanistan, with Imran Khan instructing the Chief Minister to ensure coordination and dialogue with Kabul.

Imran Khan was also given a detailed briefing on the province’s economic situation and budget. The Chief Minister outlined steps being taken to strengthen the economy, which Khan appreciated. Saif added that for a more detailed financial briefing, Khan has summoned Adviser on Finance Muzzammil Aslam. He further noted that legal action will be pursued regarding restrictions placed on Aslam’s meetings with Khan.

The performance of various ministers and departments also came under review. Imran Khan authorized the Chief Minister to take necessary measures in this regard. He also emphasized the supremacy of law and directed Gandapur to accelerate efforts under the “Haqiqi Azadi” (Real Freedom) movement.

Party affairs were another focal point of the meeting. Imran Khan issued strict instructions against elements creating rifts or undermining internal unity, making it clear that there is no place in the party for those attempting to sow division.

Saif said that the Chief Minister will once again approach the Supreme Court tomorrow to challenge restrictions on meetings with Imran Khan.
