Abducted men include five from Sindh as law enforcement agencies launch search operation

Unidentified armed men kidnapped nine labourers from a construction site in Balochistan’s Mastung district on Thursday. According to official sources, the workers were abducted from the Siyah Posh area of Tehsil Dasht, where they were working near a security checkpoint.

The group includes five labourers from Sindh and four locals. Law enforcement agencies have launched a search operation to locate them.

In a separate development, police recovered the body of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Yousuf Reki, who had been missing for several days, near Kardgap in Mastung. Officials confirmed that he had been abducted and later shot dead.

“The officer sustained multiple bullet wounds and showed signs of torture before being killed,” said a police source. His body has been shifted to Mastung District Hospital for a postmortem examination.

Police have collected forensic evidence, including bullet casings and blood samples, as part of an ongoing investigation to determine the motive and any possible connection between the two incidents.

Senior Balochistan Police officers expressed deep sorrow over the killing, calling it “a major loss for the force” and vowing to bring those responsible to justice.
