Pakistan’s energy sector marked a historic milestone on Wednesday with the arrival of the country’s largest US crude oil tanker, MT Pegasus, at the Cnergyico oil terminal in Balochistan.
The vessel, carrying one million barrels of West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude, is the first-ever US crude oil cargo to dock at a Pakistani port. The import marks the formal start of crude trade between Pakistan and the United States following a bilateral trade agreement.
According to Cnergyico, the MT Pegasus departed from Houston on September 14 and berthed at the company’s Single Point Mooring (SPM) offshore terminal today. The company described the event as a landmark development in the country’s energy landscape, underscoring Pakistan’s growing engagement in global crude markets.

Cnergyico, which previously set a record in 2017 for handling the country’s largest crude oil vessel, has announced plans for a second cargo arrival in mid-November and a third shipment in 2026.
With this latest development, Cnergyico has become Pakistan’s first company to import US crude oil, marking what industry observers see as a new chapter in Pakistan-US trade relations.
