Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), district police, and civilian intelligence agencies conducted a joint operation on Thursday in the Ambiri Kalla in the southern district of Karak, killing a most-wanted terrorist commander, Nisar Hakeem.

According to officials, the terrorist commander was involved in multiple acts of terrorism and has long been on the list of security forces’ most-wanted list.

During the operation, an intense exchange of fire took place between the security forces and the terrorists. Several police personnel sustained minor injuries during the exchange of fire.

K-P Inspector General of Police (IGP) Zulfiqar Hameed praised the efforts of the security personnel on a successful operation. The IGP reaffirmed the police’s resolve to eradicate terrorism.

On September 20, a series of terrorist attacks struck Bannu and Karak. In one incident, unidentified assailants planted explosives inside the Basic Health Unit (BHU). On September 28, 17 terrorist belonging to the TTP were killed in an operation by security forces.
