ISPR says Fitna al Khwarij once again tried to repeat barbaric act of terrorism carried out in APS Peshawar

DERA ISMAIL KHAN:

Security forces foiled a terrorist attack on Cadet College Wana, killing two terrorists and preventing a major tragedy reminiscent of the 2014 Army Public School attack in Peshawar.

According to security sources, terrorists attempted to storm the college early in the morning. The attack began with a suicide explosion at the main entrance, injuring 15 civilians and four security personnel. The injured security officials were identified as Naib Subedar Tabish, Lance Havaldar Shakeel, and soldiers Abdullah and Waqas.

Officials confirmed that security forces responded swiftly, engaging the attackers before they could enter the college premises. In the ensuing exchange of fire, two terrorists were killed. A clearance and search operation is currently underway in the surrounding area.

Authorities stated that the militants intended to carry out a large-scale assault similar to the Army Public School tragedy, but timely intervention by the security forces averted a major catastrophe.

Following the attack, the entire area has been cordoned off. All students and staff members of the cadet college remained safe, officials confirmed.

Local residents reported heavy gunfire following the explosion, while emergency services shifted the injured to nearby hospitals. Security personnel continue to maintain strict vigilance in the region.

Meanhile, Inter-Services Public Relations stated that terrorists belonging to Indian proxy Fitna al Khwarij attacked Cadet College Wana in South Waziristan District. The assailants attempted to breach the perimeter security; however, their nefarious designs were swiftly foiled by the vigilant and resolute response by troops.

In their desperation, the attackers rammed an explosive laden vehicle on the main gate, resulting in collapse of the main gate and damage to adjacent infrastructure, the military media wing stated.

It added that displaying unwavering courage and professional excellence, troops engaged the intruders with precision, eliminating two khwarij belonging to Indian proxy, Fitna al Khwarij. However, three Khwarij managed to enter inside college premises who have been cornered in college’s administrative block, the ISPR release mentioned.

“Khwarij hiding inside college premises are in contact with their masters and handlers in Afghanistan and are getting instructions,” added the ISPR.

It further stated that clearance operations are being conducted to eliminate leftover Indian sponsored kharjis, adding, “We will continue relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision “Azm e Istehkam” (as approved by Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.”

The blatant act of barbarism orchestrated by Khwarij from Afghanistan is in contrast to assertions made by Afghan Taliban regime claiming non presence of these terrorist groups on their soil. Pakistan reserves the right to respond against terrorists and their leadership present in Afghanistan, stated the ISPR.

“These khwarij belonging to Indian proxy, Fitna al Khwarij have once again tried to repeat the barbaric act of terrorism carried out by them in Army Public School Peshawar in 2014,” noted the ISPR.

It further stated that the terrorists aimed at instilling fear amongst the young generation of erstwhile tribal areas who are acquiring quality education at their doorstep to excel in life and achieve a better future for not only themselves and their families but also for their communities.
