A senior lawyer stated that there is a tradition in the Supreme Court that no judge annoys the chief justice

ISLAMABAD:

After the resignation of two Supreme Court judges, a high court judge is also considering tendering his resignation from his office. Sources revealed to The Express Tribune that a Islamabad High Court (IHC) judge may also tender his resignation soon.

On the other hand, no more resignations are expected from the Supreme Court.

It is learnt that a farewell dinner was arranged in honour of Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan at the Chief Justice house where other apex court judges were also invited. A senior lawyer said that there is a tradition in the Supreme Court that no judge annoys the chief justice.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that the Supreme Court fixture branch has sought guidelines from the Supreme Court, regarding the fixation of cases after the passage of the 27th Constitutional Amendment.

The branch has put up a note to the SC registrar and additional registrar judicial, stating that it has become essential for this institution to obtain clear and authoritative guidance regarding the allocation and processing of cases between the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) and the Federal Constitutional Court (FCC).
