Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi expresses condolences to families of police officers
Three police officers were martyred in a bomb attack targeting a police vehicle in Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
The blast, caused by an improvised explosive device, occurred within the jurisdiction of Paniyala police station.
Police told The Express Tribune that ASI Gul Alam, Constable Rafiq, and driver Sakhi Jan were killed in the attack, while another constable, Azad Shah, survived the explosion.
Rescue teams and police quickly reached the scene, transferring the bodies of the deceased to a hospital and collecting evidence from the site.
After the blast, DSP Paniyala and the area SHO were dispatched to the location, and checkpoints were set up across the vicinity.

District Police Officer of Dera Ismail Khan, Sajjad Ahmad Sahibzada, inspected the scene of an attack on a police mobile and reviewed evidence collected by investigators.
Senior officers and the Bomb Disposal Unit briefed the DPO on the initial findings, the nature of the attack and material recovered from the site.
The DPO said such “cowardly actions” would not undermine police resolve, adding that the force’s morale remained high and officers were committed to confronting militants.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the attack carried out by “Fitna al-Khawarij” and paid tribute to the fallen officers.
He expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of ASI Gul Alam, Constable Rafiq, and Sakhi Jan, praising the bravery and sacrifice of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Police.
