PM praises security forces for successful operations against terrorists, says nation stands firmly behind armed forces
Security forces killed 14 Indian-backed terrorists in separate operations in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, the military’s media wing said in a statement.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), following reports of the presence of terrorists belonging to the Indian proxy group Fitna al-Hindustan on December 5, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Dera Bugti district of Balochistan.
During the operation, security forces effectively engaged the terrorists’ location. After an intense exchange of fire, five Indian-sponsored terrorists were killed.
The statement added that weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from the terrorists, who had been actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area.
The ISPR said sanitisation operations are ongoing to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored terrorists in the region, as part of the relentless counter-terrorism campaign under the vision “Azm-e-Istehkam.”
“Security forces and law enforcement agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,” the statement added.
Earlier, nine terrorists were killed in two intelligence-based operations in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P). The first operation took place in Tank district after intelligence reports indicated the presence of individuals linked to what the ISPR called the “Indian proxy Fitna al Khawarij.”
“Troops carried out an intelligence-based operation and effectively engaged the location, leading to an intense exchange of fire that killed seven terrorists,” it said.
A second operation took place the same day in Lakki Marwat district, after intelligence pointed to additional suspected terrorists in the area. Security forces came under fire and returned fire, resulting in the deaths of two terrorists.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered from those killed in both operations. The ISPR stated that the individuals had been involved in numerous terrorist activities targeting security forces, law enforcement agencies, and in “targeted killings of innocent civilians.”
PM lauds forces for successful operations against terrorists
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised security forces for their successful operations against Indian-backed terrorists in K-P and Balochistan.
The prime minister lauded the forces for eliminating five terrorists belonging to the group Fitna al-Hindustan during the intelligence-based operation. “Under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, our security forces are achieving significant victories against terrorism,” he said.
Shehbaz added that the entire nation stood firmly behind the Pakistan Armed Forces in the ongoing fight against militancy. “The whole nation is united against terrorism and determined to eradicate all forms of terrorism from the country,” he said.
