Security forces killed 12 Indian-backed terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Kalat, Balochistan, according to an Inter-Services Public Relations statement.

According to the ISPR statement, an operation was conducted on December 6 in Kalat after information about terrorists affiliated with Fitna al Hindustan. An exchange of fire ensued after security forces traced the terrorists’ hideout. 12 terrorists were killed, according to the statement, with weapons, ammunition, and explosives recovered from their possession.

The ISPR stated that operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian sponsored terrorists in the area. The counterterrorism campaign under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” initiative, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, will continue at full pace to eliminate what it described as foreign-sponsored terrorism in the country.

President Asif Ali Zardari also paid tribute to the forces, expressing satisfaction over the ongoing anti-terrorism measures in Kalat.

The president stated that Pakistan has the full capability of bringing enemies of peace to justice, saying that the nation’s resolve will defeat every conspiracy of the Fitna al Hindustan.
