A woman was found inside a house near Rais Amrohi Colony Chowrangi in Orangi Town, triggering a police investigation to determine the cause of death.

According to police, the incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Iqbal Market Police Station in Orangi Town Sector 11½, where the deceased woman was recovered from a house near Rais Amrohi Colony Chowrangi. The deceased was identified as 35-year-old Saima, the wife of Sajid Ali. Her body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for completion of legal formalities.

Upon receiving information, police reached the scene and summoned the Crime Scene Unit to collect forensic evidence from the house. SHO Iqbal Market, Shehbaz Yousuf, said that the woman was the mother of two children; however, both children were not living with their parents.

The SHO further stated that both the deceased woman and her husband were addicted to crystal methamphetamine. According to the husband, his wife had been ill, and he had obtained medication for her from Qatar Hospital on Tuesday. He added that the husband also appeared to be unwell and was suffering from fever at the time.

Police said there were no apparent signs of violence on the woman’s body. However, light reddish marks were observed on her neck. In response, the husband claimed that the marks were due to an allergy suffered by his wife.

The SHO said police suspect that the woman may have died due to excessive drug use. To ascertain the facts, police have requested medicines and doctors’ prescriptions from the woman’s home. A post-mortem examination is being conducted to determine the exact cause of death, while the husband is being questioned as part of the ongoing investigation.
