FIA stops passenger at Islamabad airport over fake work visa

Officials find forged South African visa during clearance, refer case for legal action

The Immigration Unit of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) stopped a passenger from boarding a flight at Islamabad International Airport on Tuesday. The passenger was attempting to travel abroad on fake travel documents, was offloaded.

He has been identified as Abrar Ahmed, a Jhelum resident, who was travelling to South Africa on a work visa via flight PF-784.

During immigration clearance, his documents were found to be suspicious. Officials discovered that a fake South African visa had been affixed to his passport. Further details on how he obtained it remain unclear.

The passenger was subsequently handed over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle, Islamabad, for appropriate legal action. Further investigation is underway.

On December 12, FIA apprehended a passenger from boarding a flight at Islamabad Airport after he attempted to travel to Italy using his brother’s passport and resident card.

According to a spokesperson, the passenger, identified as Muhammad Arslan, was travelling on flight TK751 and was found suspicious during immigration clearance.

Further checks revealed he had presented the passport and residence card of his brother, Muhammad Imran.

The passenger was handed over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle for further investigation and identification of the agent involved.
