Pakistan expressed deep concern over the resurgence of violence in Yemen and strongly opposed unilateral steps by any Yemeni party that could further escalate the situation, the Foreign Office said in a statement on Wednesday.

Reiterating its long-standing position, the foreign office reaffirmed support for Yemen’s unity and territorial integrity and for all efforts aimed at establishing lasting peace and stability in the war-torn country.

“Pakistan strongly opposes unilateral steps by any Yemeni party that may further escalate the situation, undermine peace efforts, and threaten the peace and stability of Yemen as well as that of the region,” the statement said.

The Foreign Office said Pakistan also welcomed regional initiatives aimed at de-escalating the situation and maintaining peace and stability in Yemen. It expressed “complete solidarity” with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and reaffirmed its commitment to the Kingdom’s security.

Reaffirming its diplomatic approach, the foreign office said it firmly supports the resolution of the Yemen issue through dialogue and diplomacy. It expressed hope that the Yemeni people and regional stakeholders would work together towards “an inclusive and enduring settlement,” the statement added, underscoring the importance of safeguarding regional stability.
